I love to knit hats, and wanted a cute way to display them for photos and at craft fairs and markets. I saw these yarn heads by One Dog Woof and decided to make something similar.

I didn't want to have to cut dowels or drill holes in wooden bases, so I found these wooden donut stands that worked perfectly. I also got three 6" foam balls to go on top, and I already had some white yarn.

I stuck each ball onto the stick, and applied a bit of hot glue to the top of the stick to keep the ball from spinning around. Then I wrapped the ball in yarn until the whole thing measured about 21" around.

They look adorable with my hats on top! I think this will be a great way to display my hats and raise them up to eye level at markets.

They are a bit top-heavy since the bases don't weigh very much. At markets I plan to wrap a scarf around the bottom of each one which should keep them from tipping over. If not then I may switch out the bases for something heavier and ask my husband to drill holes in them for me.

Here is a list of my favorite market display supplies. I've been working hard to improve the look of my booth this year, and will have photos soon of the finished result.
