Bryn Crocheted Bucket Hat

I wanted to make more warm-weather items for my shop, and since I love making hats I decided to crochet some bucket hats in various colors.

I've tried several patterns for these types of hats over the years and could never find one that I loved. Hats made from cotton are too heavy, raffia can't get wet and jute is scratchy. I don't like a ruffled brim or round top. And for some patterns I struggled to match the gauge and the hat was too big/small.

So I ended up designing my own pattern that uses one skein of Lion Brand Rewind yarn (affiliate link). It works up fairly quickly and includes adaptable measurements as you go to ensure a good fit. This yarn is soft and lightweight, and the hat turned out super cute! I have a beach trip planned this summer and am definitely claiming one of these hats for my own and taking it with me!

I have some finished hats available in my Etsy shop and will be adding more colors this weekend: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1452904367/bryn-crocheted-summer-bucket-hat

Or if you want to make your own, I wrote up an easy-to-follow PDF crochet pattern:
